About Jennifer Bucheit
Jennifer Bucheit is a visual artist currently based in the Pacific Northwest. She grew up, and spent the majority of her life in the Midwest, receiving her BA in Journalism and BFA in Graphic Design from the University of Iowa. She later received her MFA in Photography from Academy of Art University. Her work was recently exhibited at the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art for the 2019 Wisconsin Triennial; it has also been selected for juried national exhibitions and is included in private collections across the United States. She is the recipient of several photography honors including The Chicago Project with the Catherine Edelman Gallery in Chicago and Photolucida’s Critical Mass 2020 top 200.
Her background in both design and narrative fields continue to inform her current artwork. Her practice is rooted in the visual language of abstraction and formal experimentation while using post-consumer waste materials to comment on American consumerism.
